First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study compares two types of ultrasound-guided pain blocks (TAP block and quadratus lumborum block) in 70 adults undergoing open inguinal hernia repair with spinal anesthesia. The goal is to see which block better reduces pain and the need for opioid painkillers after surgery. Both blocks worked well, but the quadratus lumborum block may provide longer-lasting pain relief.
