Can rehab ease pain in Parkinson's? new study seeks answers
NCT ID NCT05748028
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study observes 280 people with Parkinson's disease or multiple system atrophy to understand how pain and automatic body functions (like blood pressure and digestion) affect their lives. Participants will undergo standard rehabilitation and be assessed with questionnaires. The goal is to find patterns that predict who benefits most from rehab, not to test a new drug.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this study could help doctors better predict which patients benefit most from rehabilitation, improving pain management and quality of life.
- What could go wrong
- This is an observational study, not a treatment trial. It will not test a new drug or therapy, so it cannot directly lead to a cure or new treatment.
