Researchers investigate why some patients develop chronic pain after heart procedure
NCT ID NCT05211492
Summary
This study aims to understand acute and chronic pain that can occur after a specific type of heart surgery called one-stage hybrid arrhythmia ablation. Researchers surveyed 43 patients who had the surgery at least three months earlier to learn how common pain is and what factors—like different pain medications or genetic background—might be linked to developing long-term pain. The goal is to gather knowledge to potentially improve pain management after this procedure in the future.
