First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study looked at whether using a Foley catheter (a small balloon placed in the cervix) at home could help start labor in first-time mothers whose pregnancy has gone past the due date. 43 women took part. The goal was to see if this approach is safe and effective compared to waiting. The study is complete, but results are not yet widely reported.
