First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a Foley catheter (a small balloon placed in the cervix) could be used at home to start labor in first-time mothers whose pregnancy has gone past the due date. 43 women took part. The goal was to see if this approach is safe and effective compared to waiting and being induced in the hospital.
