Electric cap tested to fight Kids' brain cancer

NCT ID NCT03033992

Summary

This trial is testing a wearable medical device called Optune for children with aggressive brain tumors. For one group, it tests if children can tolerate wearing the device for many hours a day to treat recurrent tumors. For another group with a newly diagnosed, hard-to-treat brainstem tumor, it tests if using the device alongside standard radiation therapy is safe and might help them live longer.
