NCT ID NCT06994442
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding non-opioid pain medicines (acetaminophen and ketorolac) can better control pain and reduce the need for strong opioids in children on breathing machines. About 644 children aged 2 months to 17 years with acute respiratory failure will be randomly assigned to receive one of four combinations of these drugs or a placebo. The goal is to see if these safer alternatives can keep kids comfortable and coma-free.
