First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study compared two types of weight-loss surgery—Omega Loop Bypass and Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass—in 256 adults with severe obesity. The goal was to see which surgery works better for weight loss and has fewer complications. Both surgeries aim to help people lose weight and improve health, but this trial looked at which one might be safer and easier to perform.
