New heart storage method could save more lives in transplants

Summary
This study compares a new method of keeping donor hearts healthy outside the body (non-ischemic preservation) with the standard cold storage method. The goal is to see if the new approach reduces complications and improves survival in the first month and year after a heart transplant. About 230 adult heart transplant recipients will take part across multiple centers.
