Salty solution may shield kidneys after heart transplant

Summary
This study tests whether giving a concentrated salt solution (hypertonic saline) right after heart transplant can prevent or lessen acute kidney injury. About 74 adults who have a heart transplant will be randomly assigned to receive either the salt solution or a placebo. The main goal is to see if the treatment lowers peak creatinine levels by 30%, reducing the need for dialysis and improving recovery.
