First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tested a new approach for advanced ovarian cancer: giving the immunotherapy drug nivolumab directly into the abdomen (intraperitoneally) after surgery and heated chemotherapy (HIPEC). The goal was to see if this combination is safe and tolerable. Twenty-two adults with recurrent ovarian cancer took part. The treatment aims to boost the immune system's ability to fight cancer cells that remain in the abdomen.
