Summary

This study examines how nicotine buildup in gum tissue influences the results of non-surgical periodontitis treatment. Researchers will measure nicotine and cotinine levels in the gums of 56 smokers and non-smokers with periodontitis. The goal is to understand if nicotine intoxication makes treatment less effective.
