New ultrasound technique could replace surgery for diagnosing common endometriosis
NCT ID NCT05523284
First seen Feb 16, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tests a new, non-invasive ultrasound technique called SPG to diagnose superficial endometriosis, the most common form of the disease. Currently, diagnosis requires surgery, but this method uses fluid to make tiny lesions visible on ultrasound. Researchers will compare the accuracy of this new approach to the standard surgical diagnosis in 50 women with suspected superficial endometriosis.
