New injection could slash pain after common surgery
NCT ID NCT06768593
Summary
This study tested a new type of nerve block to see if it could better manage pain after laparoscopic gallbladder removal surgery. Doctors used ultrasound to guide an injection of numbing medicine near the ribs to block pain signals. The goal was to see if this method reduced patients' need for strong painkillers like opioids in the first day after their operation.
