New injection could slash pain after common surgery
NCT ID NCT06768593
Summary
This study tested a new type of nerve block to see if it could better manage pain after laparoscopic gallbladder removal. Researchers gave 77 patients an ultrasound-guided injection of numbing medicine near their ribs before surgery. The goal was to see if this block reduced the need for strong painkillers (opioids) and improved pain scores in the first day after the operation.
