Safer liver test could predict deadly bleeding

Summary
This study is testing a new, potentially safer method to measure pressure inside the liver (portal hypertension) in people with cirrhosis from chronic hepatitis. The goal is to see if this new method, done during a standard scope exam, can accurately predict a patient's risk of serious complications like internal bleeding. Researchers will enroll 30 patients to see how well the new technique works compared to the current, more difficult standard.
