Brain scans may change how doctors treat heart infections
NCT ID NCT05378126
First seen May 04, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study looked at 29 adults with a serious heart infection called infectious endocarditis, which can cause silent strokes. Researchers wanted to see if adding a brain MRI and a check by a nerve doctor would change how the patient was treated. The goal was to learn if these extra tests help doctors make better decisions, not to test a new treatment.
