Mind-Reading chip trial aims to give voice back to paralyzed patients

NCT ID NCT07224256

Summary

This early study is testing Neuralink's brain implant system to help people who have lost the ability to speak due to conditions like ALS, spinal cord injury, or stroke. A small group of participants will have a wireless device implanted in their brain by a surgical robot, which aims to translate their thoughts into computer text for communication. The main goals are to check if the implant and procedure are safe, and to see if the technology can effectively restore communication abilities.
