Mind-Reading chip trial aims to give voice back to the paralyzed

Summary
This early study is testing a brain implant system designed to help people who have lost the ability to speak due to conditions like ALS or paralysis. A small group of six adults will have a wireless device implanted in their brain by a surgical robot. The main goal is to see if the implant is safe and if it can let people communicate by translating their thoughts into text on a computer.
