Scientists hunt for hidden causes of crippling muscle disease
NCT ID NCT01276470
Summary
This study aims to understand whether certain environmental exposures—like infections, chemicals, or stressful events—might trigger autoimmune muscle diseases called myositis. Researchers will compare 580 people with myositis to healthy volunteers, collecting blood, dust samples, and detailed questionnaires about their past exposures. The goal is to identify potential risk factors that could lead to better prevention strategies in the future.
