Scientists track MS from life to death in groundbreaking brain study
NCT ID NCT02659956
Summary
This study aims to understand how changes seen on brain scans in living people with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) relate to the actual physical damage found in the brain after death. Researchers will follow about 250 participants, including people with MS and some without, for many years with annual check-ups, MRI scans, and eye tests. The key part of the study happens after a participant passes away, when scientists examine the donated brain and spinal cord to connect a lifetime of scan results with the final physical evidence of the disease.
