New MRI scan could replace invasive scope tests for liver patients

NCT ID NCT07450651

Summary

This study aims to develop a safer way to check for dangerous varices (enlarged veins) in people with hepatitis B-related liver cirrhosis. Researchers will test whether a special type of MRI scan can accurately identify high-risk varices that might bleed. If successful, this could help many patients avoid invasive endoscopy procedures while still getting important screening.
