Simple mouthpiece could ease strain on failing hearts during sleep
NCT ID NCT07460505
Summary
This study is testing if a simple mouthpiece worn at night can help people who have both heart failure and a common sleep disorder called obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). The mouthpiece, already used for sleep apnea, is designed to keep the airway open during sleep, which may reduce stress on the heart. Over 300 participants in Singapore will use either the real mouthpiece or a fake one for a year to see if it improves a key heart health marker, exercise ability, and quality of life.
