Simple nighttime mouthpiece could ease strain on failing hearts

NCT ID NCT07460505

Summary

This study is testing if a mouthpiece worn during sleep can help people who have both heart failure and a common sleep disorder called obstructive sleep apnea. The mouthpiece is designed to keep the airway open, which may reduce stress on the heart and improve symptoms. Over 300 participants in Singapore will use either the real mouthpiece or a fake one for a year to see if it improves a key heart failure blood marker, exercise ability, and quality of life.
