First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study is testing a new device called MOTUS, which replaces a worn-out joint in the lower back, to see if it works as well as the standard surgery (spinal fusion). About 158 people with back pain from a single damaged disc will get the MOTUS implant. The goal is to improve pain, movement, and quality of life without the need for more surgery.
