This study tests whether taking zolpidem (Ambien) for a few days before and after lumbar spine fusion surgery can improve pain and function. The goal is to see if better sleep around the time of surgery leads to better outcomes.

What this could lead to
If it works, this could show that short-term use of zolpidem helps people recover better after spine surgery, with less pain and disability.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase trial. Zolpidem may not improve outcomes and could cause side effects like drowsiness or confusion. Results may not apply to everyone.
