Mind over muscle: motivation may enhance mental training for back strength

NCT ID NCT07155655

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 34 times

Summary

This study looked at whether adding motivation to mental imagery or watching actions could improve lower back strength in healthy adults. Forty people were split into four groups: some did mental imagery, some watched actions, and some did these with added motivation. Strength was measured before, during, and after a 4-week program. The goal was to see if motivation makes these mental techniques more effective.
