First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tests whether a single injection of morphine around certain neck nerves can reduce heart muscle damage in people who have had a heart attack and undergone a procedure to open blocked arteries. Researchers will compare the morphine injection to a placebo (salt water) in 166 participants. The goal is to see if this approach can limit injury and improve recovery within 30 days.
