First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tests whether injecting morphine around a nerve cluster in the neck (stellate ganglion) can reduce heart muscle damage in people who have had a heart attack and undergone artery-opening treatment (PCI). Researchers will compare morphine to a placebo (salt water) in 166 participants. The goal is to see if this approach safely lessens injury and improves recovery within 30 days.
