Summary

This study tests montelukast, an asthma drug, in 50 teens and young adults (ages 14–24) with type 2 diabetes. The goal is to see if it can reduce inflammation that damages kidneys and blood vessels. Participants will take the drug for 6 months, and researchers will measure changes in kidney and heart function.
