Can a phone app and a peer coach help young adults curb heavy drinking after trauma?
NCT ID NCT07118826
Summary
This study aimed to test an enhanced mobile app designed to help young adults (ages 18-29) who have experienced interpersonal trauma and engage in heavy drinking. The app included coping strategies for trauma-related stress and was followed by support from a peer coach via text message. Researchers planned to compare this enhanced version to a standard app to see if it was more effective at reducing alcohol use, but the trial was withdrawn before any participants were enrolled.
