Scientists dig deep into heart cells to unlock heart failure secrets

NCT ID NCT05770349

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study looks at tiny structures inside heart cells called mitochondria, which help produce energy. Researchers want to see if problems with these structures are linked to worse heart failure outcomes. About 45 to 60 people with heart failure and blocked arteries will give small heart tissue samples and blood. The goal is to better understand heart failure, not to test a new treatment.
