Mirror or robot? new study tests better hand recovery after stroke

NCT ID NCT07435688

First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tested two ways to help people recover hand and arm movement after a stroke: traditional mirror therapy and a robotic hand device that uses a mirror-like mode. Thirty adults who had a stroke within the past year took part in a 6-week program. Researchers measured improvements in motor function, sensation, and daily use of the affected arm to see which method works better.
