First seen Feb 26, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a gentler type of anesthesia (minimal-flow) helps older adults avoid memory and attention problems after surgery. Researchers measured thinking skills before and after surgery in 90 patients aged 65-85. The goal was to see if shorter surgeries with this anesthesia lead to better brain function recovery.
