Can mindfulness ease migraine in teens? new study aims to find out
NCT ID NCT07513662
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Aug 11, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests whether a fully virtual mindfulness program (BREATHE-HA) is feasible and acceptable for teens aged 12–17 with migraine. Participants will either join a 6-session mindfulness group or a headache education group, both delivered via telehealth. The goal is to see if teens will sign up, stay in the study, and attend enough sessions, not yet to prove the program works.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- mindfulness-based intervention (BREATHE-HA)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could provide a new, accessible way to help teens manage migraine symptoms without medication.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small feasibility study, not designed to prove the intervention works. It may not show clear benefits, and results may not apply to all teens with migraine.
