First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tested whether giving patients a brief lesson about mindfulness before a short meditation session helps them feel less pain while waiting at an orthopedic clinic. Over 600 adults took part, and researchers measured changes in how unpleasant and intense their pain felt. The goal was to see if a little education makes the meditation work better for quick pain relief.
