Mindfulness may calm anxiety in seniors at risk for Alzheimer's

NCT ID NCT03005652

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tested whether an 8-week mindfulness program could reduce anxiety in 168 older adults who worry about their memory but still score normally on memory tests. Participants were randomly assigned to either mindfulness training or a health education program. The goal was to see if lowering anxiety might also help slow future memory decline and delay Alzheimer's disease.
