First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding a natural milk component (MFGM) to a standard therapeutic food can improve brain development and reduce death or hospitalization in 1,600 severely malnourished children aged 6–59 months in Sierra Leone. Children receive either the enhanced or standard food for up to 12 weeks, with regular health checks and developmental tests. The goal is to find a better way to treat severe malnutrition and its long-term effects.
