New gel tested against standard cream for skin discoloration
NCT ID NCT07345507
Summary
This study tested whether a new metformin gel works as well as a standard triple-combination cream for treating melasma, a common skin condition that causes dark patches. Thirty-four adults with melasma applied one of the two creams to their face nightly for 12 weeks while also using sunscreen daily. Researchers measured changes in the darkness and size of the patches to see which treatment was more effective and better tolerated.
