New skin gel tested against standard melasma treatment

NCT ID NCT07345507

Summary

This study compared two creams for treating melasma, a common skin condition causing dark patches. Thirty-four adults with melasma applied either a standard triple-combination cream or a new gel containing metformin to their face nightly for 12 weeks. Researchers measured which treatment was more effective at reducing the dark patches and which was better tolerated by the skin.
