Summary
This study tests whether metformin, a common diabetes medicine, is safe and tolerable for people with a specific genetic form of ALS (C9orf72 ALS). About 41 participants will take metformin for 24 weeks. Researchers will monitor side effects and measure changes in harmful proteins in spinal fluid to see if the drug might help control the disease.
