First seen Mar 31, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study is testing a set of five virtual reality games (exergames) in the metaverse designed to improve cognitive skills like memory, attention, and problem-solving in people with neurological disorders such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, stroke, and traumatic brain injury. About 25 adults with mild cognitive deficits will play these games and researchers will measure how acceptable, usable, and motivating the technology is, as well as any changes in thinking abilities. The goal is to see if social, immersive gaming can make cognitive therapy more engaging and effective.
