First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study looked at whether giving a combination of acetaminophen and ibuprofen (Maxigesic) during and after lung surgery could reduce confusion (delirium) in patients aged 65 and older. The trial planned to enroll 25 people but was terminated early. Researchers compared the Maxigesic group to a placebo group and tracked confusion for 5 days after surgery.
