Skin patch plus body's own cells may fix massive shoulder tears

NCT ID NCT05855759

First seen Feb 23, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study tests a special patch made from donated human skin, combined with cells from the patient's own bone marrow and shoulder lining, to repair large rotator cuff tears. The goal is to see if this approach lowers the chance of the tendon tearing again after surgery. About 72 adults with severe tears will be enrolled and followed with MRI scans.
