First seen Feb 23, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests a new approach for repairing large rotator cuff tears. Surgeons will use a special patch made from donated human skin, combined with the patient's own bone marrow and shoulder tissue cells, to strengthen the repair. The goal is to see if this method lowers the chance of the tendon tearing again. About 72 adults with severe tears will take part.
