First seen Apr 28, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tested whether smoking marijuana with different THC levels changes how much people crave and drink alcohol. About 157 heavy drinkers who also use marijuana took part. Researchers measured alcohol cravings and how much participants chose to drink or take money instead. The goal was to understand how marijuana influences alcohol use, not to treat any condition.
