First seen Nov 10, 2025 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study looks at how natural compounds in fruits and vegetables (called flavonoids) are broken down by gut bacteria and whether those breakdown products help protect the brain. Researchers will give 100 adults aged 50+ at risk for Alzheimer's a special diet and measure changes in their gut microbes, blood, and thinking skills. The goal is to understand the connection between diet, gut health, and memory.
