Summary
This study looks at how certain white blood cells (macrophages) in the lungs react to inflammation in people with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). Researchers will collect lung fluid, blood, and nose samples from 56 ICU patients on breathing machines. The goal is to understand how the immune system turns off inflammation and to find faster ways to diagnose lung infections.
