New radiation technique aims to cut side effects in throat cancer patients

Summary
This study tests whether using a special scan (lymphoscintigraphy) to guide radiation only to the side of the neck with cancer can prevent the cancer from spreading to the other side while reducing dry mouth. About 22 adults with HPV-positive oropharynx cancer that has not spread to the opposite side of the neck will receive this targeted radiation. The main goal is to see if the cancer stays away from the untreated side within one year.
