New drug trial aims to free blood cancer patients from frequent transfusions

NCT ID NCT05732961

Summary

This study is testing whether the drug luspatercept can help adults with certain lower-risk blood disorders (MDS or MDS/MPN) who have anemia and require regular blood transfusions. Participants will receive luspatercept along with standard supportive care to see if it reduces their need for transfusions. The research will also monitor the drug's safety and how well it's tolerated by patients.
